Yes. You can build a family tree for free, with no account. A free account keeps your tree saved and lets you share it with one link. Paid plans add more trees, unlimited people, photos, editing invites, and export.
Do I need an account to make a family tree?
No. Click "Start your tree" and begin. Your tree is saved on this device as you work. Create a free account when you want it saved to your name and shareable.
How do I make a family tree online for free?
Open familylinkage.com and click "Start your tree". Add one name. Then tap the plus buttons around each card to add parents, children, and partners. The tree arranges itself.
Can my family help build the tree?
Yes. Send relatives one link. With a view link they can look around. With an edit link they can suggest new people and connections, and you approve each change before it joins your tree.
Do my relatives need an account to see the tree?
No. A share link opens straight in the browser on any phone or computer. Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
How do I add siblings, aunts, uncles, or cousins?
Everything is built from parent and partner links. Give two people the same parents and they are siblings. An aunt is a child of the grandparents. A cousin is a child of that aunt or uncle. The tree connects the rest.
Can I print or export my family tree?
Yes. On the Standard plan you can export a high-resolution PNG image or an A4-fitted PDF, ready for printing or framing.
Does the whole family need to pay?
No. One subscription is enough for the whole family. Relatives open your links and help build the tree for free, on any phone, tablet, or computer.
Is my family data private?
Yes. Only people who have your link can see your tree, and you can revoke any link at any time. There are no ads and your data is never sold.
Can I see who viewed my tree, or take a link back?
Yes. Your dashboard lists every link you created, view and edit alike. Each one shows how many times it was opened and when it was last opened. One click revokes a link, and a revoked link stops working immediately.
Who owns the family data I enter?
You do. Your trees belong to you. You can export them, revoke access to them, and delete them whenever you want. We never sell your data. The details are in our privacy policy.
